[LITMUS^RT] Using feather trace

using ftcat gives me no such file as /dev/litmus/ft_trace gives error could
not open feather trace device(/dev/litmus/ft_trace).
Where can I enable feather trace as it is not showing in .config file for
kernel compilation after applying
litmus-rt-2013.1.patch<http://www.litmus-rt.org/releases/2013.1/litmus-rt-2013.1.patch>
