Sorry, my thumb hit "send" too early. I meant to say you'll have to *adjust* your design to deal with the smp_call() restrictions. By the way, these restrictions are the reason why we have special IPI for setting remote timers. Using smp_call() would be much simpler, but we need to set remote timers while interrupts are off...
