[LITMUS^RT] Managing the code

Hi all,
I recently forked and cloned litmus^rt related repositories from
https://github.com/LITMUS-RT. Once I compile and install the kernel, the
file size becomes larger. The guidelines given in
https://wiki.litmus-rt.org/litmus/CreateAPluginTutorial suggests to commit
the code often.  But I wish to manage the development code (including the
changes I make) in my Github account. How do I push the code to GitHub when
the size is so large ?
